Build your Own Liquid To Liquid Heat Exchanger

This project was developed to integrate an outdoor wood burning furnace with a closed-loop hydronic home heating system. It could also be used in other liquid heat transfer applications including solar or domestic hot water heating. Commercial versions of these devices are very expensive, but this exchanger was built for less than $200. This plan will yield a unit 9 feet in length. As a rule of thumb, use 1 exchanger for every 50,000 BTU's required.
