Build a Liquid to Liquid Heat Exchanger to Heat Your Swimming Pool or Spa
This project was developed to be used with an outside wood burning furnace, or a hot water boiler, to heat a swimming pool, or spa. It could also be used for solar heating applications. Commercial versions of these can be expensive, but this exchanger was built for less than $200.

1. 1 Pc. 6" dia. x 67" long steel tubing for the outer casing/available from a local steel supplier
2. 2 pcs. 1/8" thick x 6"wide x 6" high steel plate for the endcaps/available from a local steel supplier
3. 18 pcs. 5/8" tube x 1/2" male brass pipe connector/available from your local building center
4. 9 pcs. 5/8" OD x 72" long stainless steel tubing/available from McMaster Carr at http://www.mcmaster.com/ (part # 8989 K79)
5. 1 pc. 3/8 in. pipe coupler/available from your local building center
6. 1 pc. 3/8 in. pipe plug/available from your local building center
7. 2 pcs. 1-1/4" pipe coupling/available from your local building center
8. 2 pcs. 1-1/2" x 24" PVC pipe/available from your local building center
9. 36 pcs. 1/2" MTA plastic hose barbs/available from your local building center
10. 36 pcs. hose clamps/available from your local building center
11. Miscellaneous 1-1/4", 160 psi black poly pipe/available from your local building center
